John Matthiesen

John’s 20-plus years of involvement in the power sector includes thermal energy (gas turbine power trains), renewable energy (on-shore and off-shore wind), distributed energy resources (energy storage, clean hydrogen, microgrids, and EV charging), and smart grid and asset management programs. Currently, John leads growth and strategy for eGRID at Hatch, responsible for helping utilities embrace the energy transition through resiliency planning, grid modernization, asset management, technology assessments, and general energy consulting services. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive knowledge of emerging technologies and business models in the power and electricity markets. John leverages his broad power sector experiences to consider out-of-the-box solutions to challenging client issues.
