Biography

Marie-Hélène graduated in civil engineering from École Polytechnique in 1984 and obtained a Ph.D. in coastal engineering from Queen’s University.  With thirty-five years of experience in dams and hydroelectric projects, she has managed and supervised numerous projects for new hydroelectric developments, rehabilitation of existing dams and hydro developments, dam safety assessments, and environmental impact studies in Canada and abroad. In the past twenty years, she has filled leadership positions for various engineering firms in the energy sector, including engineering management for a group of 300 engineers and specialists, vice president for major projects and operations at RSW, and energy business line leader for Canada at AECOM.  Before retiring, Marie-Hélène was global director for the hydropower and dams group for eight years at Hatch.
