Mike Risavy

Mike Risavy is the Director of Resource Planning at Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), where he leads the planning of a reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity system to support Ontario’s growing economy. His team develops forecasts for electricity demand, supply, costs, and emissions over a 25-year horizon, identifying future system needs and evaluating pathways to meet them in an increasingly dynamic energy landscape. With more than 15 years of experience across Canada’s energy sector, including roles in consulting and at the IESO, Mike has played a key role in informing major planning decisions and shaping Ontario’s evolving electricity system.
