Biography

Nikou is a hydrotechnical engineer with fourteen years of experience in the hydropower sector, with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Manitoba in civil engineering. Nikou started her career at Hatch in designing hydraulic structures, river hydraulics, and CFD modelling. From there she has taken on project management and coordination roles on projects varying in size and complexity. 

In 2021, Nikou relocated to the Calgary office where she took on the role as the Alberta regional manager for hydropower and dams. As part of this role, she is responsible for driving regional business development and team management, in addition to her existing project oversight. Nikou’s recent assignments include her role as a deputy project manager for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement project, assistant project manager for the FargoMoorehead floodway project, project manager for a replacement planning study for three of the Water Security Agency structures, and project manager and an onsite construction inspector for the construction management services of the Minton Lake Dam replacement project.
