Mike Peters

Mike is the Director of Public Affairs for Evolugen by Brookfield Renewable. Since joining Evolugen in 2022, his responsibilities focus on supporting our existing renewable electricity portfolio and engaging with governments and stakeholders to advance decarbonization solutions on a path to net-zero. He has led public engagement programs in Alberta and Ontario in support of project approvals, focused on engaging proactively with communities to build trust with local stakeholders.  

Prior to joining Evolugen, Mike worked at TELUS as the Director of Government Relations, Alberta working on policy solutions to bridge the urban-rural divide on connectivity. He’s previously spent time with Global Public Affairs and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. In that capacity he worked extensively with federal and territorial governments on policy and programs relating to regulatory reform, regional land use planning, and environmental assessment. 

Mike holds a BA in Political Science from Dalhousie University and a master’s in international and European politics from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
