Biography
Dan is a professional engineer with a wide range of engineering experiences, including utility and international consultancy activities, with a focus on high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS).
Dan has been involved with numerous HVDC/FACTS projects, ranging from feasibility studies, technical specification preparation, tender evaluation, and commissioning to equipment assessment and studies involving equipment upgrades. Dan has extensive experience in asset management and is well-versed in all aspects of power transmission assets. He is a member of the CIGRE working group B4-78 “Cyber Asset Management for HVDC/FACTS systems” and is an invited member of the Standards Council of Canada working group CSC/IEC/TC123 “Standardization of the Management of Assets in Power Systems”.
