Biography

As Director, Indigenous and Community Affairs, Matt is accountable for initiating and supporting relationships between Northland Power and Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities globally. Matt is responsible for leading and maintaining relationships associated with project development, construction, and operations as well as issue management in relevant jurisdictions where Northland is active. Matt joined the company in September of 2020.

Matt brings to Northland over 20 years’ experience in the areas of senior management, project development, project management and administration. Prior to joining Northland Matt collaborated with and provided energy project development and project management consulting services to various First Nations in Ontario through his consulting company Beausoleil Consulting. Prior to opening his consulting firm, Matt was the Canadian Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Engie, a global independent power producer, utility, and asset management company.

Matt resides in Elora with his family and has a Bachelor of History degree from Queen’s University.
